One of the most talented sportscasters has taken his game to the big stage in the United States. Nabil Karim who was terrific on Sportscentre at TSN is now anchoring Sportscenter on ESPN. However his current career path wasn't his first choice and there were tough moments. We discussed the NBA All Star Game, tributes to Kobe and similarities to the Humboldt Broncos bus crash tragedy as well as Connor McDavid's popularity with our neighbours to the south. I also gave him an ESPN commercial idea and we discussed working for the biggest sports broadcasting name in the world? Our Top 3 presented by Ultimate Franchise Fantasy Sports was the top 3 NBA contenders post all star break, and our UFFS poll question was about choosing between Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Pasternak, or Matthews if you're starting a franchise and Connor McDavid has retired. Colin Fraser played on what many consider the greatest World Junior Team Canada has produced, 2005 in North Dakota. They  literally knocked Alexander Ovechkin out of the gold medal game. We chatted about his minor hockey days and how that's changed. His WJC experience and his time in the NHL that produced 3 Stanley Cups. Colin has some great stories from fighting WJC teammates in their first game after the tournament to the worst injury he saw a teammate play through and so much more. Canada's World Junior camp is underway in Oakville and Sam Cosentino of the CHL on Sportsnet has been watching the past couple of days. We discussed the team that might be and expectations for this year. How much will the team rely on likely first overall pick Alexis Lafreniere? How many draft eligible players will be chosen? For the first time in a few years there will be a goaltending battle and Dale Hunter may employ a different kind of power play. We also touched on the Oil Kings and the WHL.
